The exploration and development of global deep-water oil, gas, and hydrate resources are deepening, while also encountering many technical challenges, which have attracted widespread attention from industry scholars and gradually become a research hotspot. In order to promote the exchange and cooperation between domestic and foreign scholars and promote the technological progress in the field of deepwater oil and gas and hydrate development in China, the editorial board of Journal of Hydradynamics of the Chinese Petroleum Society, China University of Petroleum (East China), and the National Engineering Research Center for Oil and Gas Drilling and Completion Technology will hold the 5th International Deepwater Oil and Gas Engineering Frontier Technology Seminar and the 4th International Hydrate Youth Forum in Qingdao in August 2023.     The International Deep Water Oil and Gas Engineering Frontier Technology Seminar has been held for four consecutive sessions.
